FOTO: FOCUSED ON THE OBJECT
Armed only with pinhole cameras, local photographers Jeff Dykes, Frank Quimby and Dave Parsons have created unique images inspired by pieces from the Lynn Museum collection. Using old technology to breathe new life into historic objects, the photographers invite you to take a fresh look at Lynn’s rich culture through a pinhole.
PAINTING LAND AND SEA
This is an intimate exhibition of paintings and works on paper that explores how visual artists of the past have represented our coastal landscape. Drawn from our own collection and from local collectors, Painting Land and Sea will give visitors both an expansive and an in-depth portrayal of the coastal experience over time and in various media.
A STEP BACK IN TIME
Slip your foot into the shoe exhibition on display on the second floor. A magnificent display of textiles and color flows throughout the space while highlighting the history of Lynn’s shoe factory era and the dawn of fashion-forward footwear!
WHERE THERE IS SMOKE THERE IS FIRE
Stop, drop and explore! Two fires consumed the city a century apart, the largest in 1889 and the second in 1981. This exhibition takes a look back to the history of the “great fires” of Lynn and the courageous men that fought the battles. Drawn entirely from the vast assortment of fire images and artifacts within the Museum’s collection including the infamous Box 41.
